A Milwaukee native\, Sardina entered military service following high school and deployed to Vietnam in 1970. During his service\, he reportedly performed with a band made up of fellow Marines while serving overseas. After returning home\, he built a successful music career\, becoming widely known as “Lightning” of the popular husband-and-wife Neil Diamond Tribute entertainment duo Lightning & Thunder. Though remembered by many for his music and stage presence\, Sardina was also a proud Vietnam veteran whose military service helped shape his life and resilience. He passed away July 27\, 2006 at the age of 55.
