SUMMARY:Famous Veterans Birthdays - September 3rd
DESCRIPTION:Famous Veterans Celebrating Birthdays Today (September 3rd):\nFamous Veterans Born September 3\, 1923: \nGlen Bell – Founder of Taco Bell – (Marine Corps WWII) – Died: January 16\, 2010 \nRun for the Border\, ¡Yo Quiero Taco Bell!\, Think outside the bun… #SemperFi… uh wtf? \nOk you’re are probably wondering what in the world the #MarineCorps has to do with a world famous fast food Mexican chain! \nIf you are one of the millions of Americans who hits up #TacoBell every day\, you can thank Mr. #GlennBell [who would have turned 97 yesterday (Sept. 3rd)]… and you can thank the #UnitedStatesMarineCorps! \nThat’s right… the Marine Corps. Prior to jumping head first into the food service industry\, Bell served in the #USMC as a cook during #WorldWarII. After the Marines he started his first hot dog stand ‘Bell’s Drive-In’\, in San Bernardino in 1948. In 1952\, he sold the hot dog stand and built a second location selling hot dogs and hamburgers. He soon started selling tacos at a taco stand named Taco-Tia at 19 cents each from a side window. Between 1954 and 1955\, he opened three Taco Tias in the San Bernardino area\, eventually selling those restaurants and opening four #ElTacos with a partner in the Long Beach area. \nIn 1962\, he went solo and sold the El Tacos to his partner and opened his first Taco Bell. Bell franchised his restaurant in 1964. His company grew rapidly\, and the 868-restaurant chain was later sold to #PepsiCo in 1978 for $125 million in stock. \nGlenn Bell… another on a long list of FamousVeterans.com who proudly served our great nation and transitioned his military experience into one of America’s greatest success stories! Happy Angel Birthday… and thank you for your service! #LiveMas! \nFamous Veterans Born September 3\, 1913: \nAlan Ladd – Actor: Shane – (Army Air Force WWII) – Died: January 29\, 1964
